Kleptomania, a mental illness difficult to understand

Being kleptomaniac, unable to help shoplift, it can raise a smile or make jokes or comedy films. But when you live this reality day by day, life is much less smiling.

Juliette makes a good living, but she is bulimic ... and kleptomaniac. She steals jewels toc in department stores, and has been for several years without ever getting caught. Nobody is aware of this habit, and she collects jewelry she carefully hides that no one doubts his behavior.

The kleptomaniac as Juliet feel a sort of tension that is relieved by the act of stealing. They feel a strong desire to grab objects are prohibited. It is not a simple desire of possession as among collectors because they could mostly afford what they steal so completely honest in paying their purchases. This is not poverty that drives them to do so. Besides the items stolen are often low value.

Kleptomania, an impulse disorder

All kleptomaniacs are not attached to the stolen items like Juliet who collects. Some even do not open the package they have stolen, or deposited in a corner to forget about it. Finally, the act of stealing itself is exciting. It is therefore a disorder of impulse.
